About this product
Astral CPVC PRO SDR 13.5 pipes (Class 2 as per IS:15778) are produced in copper tube size from 15 mm (½ in) to 50 mm (2 in). They are made from the same CPVC compound as SDR 11 pipes, with a thinner wall and therefore a lower pressure rating at any given temperature. The pipe is tan coloured with a brown stripe and is joined by solvent cement.
Key features
- Corrosion resistant - keeps pure water pure, no worries from corrosion of metal pipe or soldered joints
- Easy plumbing process - simple solvent cement jointing
- only chamfering tool and pipe cutter required, no electrical source needed
- Low coefficient of thermal expansion, reducing 'looping' of the pipe when hot water runs
- Fire safety - Limiting Oxygen Index of 60
- does not support combustion, no flaming drips, low flame spread and low smoke generation
- Tough, rigid material - needs fewer hangers and supports
- higher pressure bearing capability
- Lower bacterial growth due to very smooth internal surface
- Unaffected by chlorine present in potable water
- No scale, pit or leach formation
- maintains full water carrying capacity
- Compatible with hot and cold water, withstands temperatures up to 93°C
- Approved for potable water contact in many countries
- compound approved by NSF
- High UV resistance
- life span stated as more than 50 years
- Tan coloured pipe with brown stripe
- marked with manufacturer's trademark, material designation and applicable standard
Applications
- Hot and cold potable water supply in homes and apartments
- Hotels and resorts
- Hospitals
- High and low rise buildings
- Corporate and commercial houses
- Academic institutes
