AYY 2 core cable has aluminium conductors (IS 8130), PVC Type A insulation (option HR PVC Type C) to IS 5831, a PVC / PVC tape inner sheath and a PVC Type ST-1 outer sheath (options ST-2, FR or FRLS), as per IS 1554 Part 1. It is rated 1.1 kV (A.C) and 1.5 kV (D.C) to earth with red and black cores. The part number covers size only, so conductor type and class, insulation type, sheath type and colour must be advised when ordering.
