Elastomeric battery cable has bare copper strands to EN 60228 class 6 and a special elastomeric insulation of thermoplastic elastomer vulcanizate. It is adapted to BS 6862, rated for a maximum of 200 V with a 1000 V test voltage, and operates from -40°C to +90°C (3000 hrs). The insulation passes an acid resistance test in sulphuric acid of specific gravity 1.28 at 160°C to 210°C over 60 hrs and resists ozone, acids, solvents, detergents, vaseline and oils. Normal flex and super flex conductor bunches are offered, in wooden drums.
