About this product
Shyam TMT Re-bars Fe 415 are BIS-certified high-strength thermo-mechanically treated reinforcement bars produced under controlled conditions from in-house M.S. steel billets by the DRI-EAF route. The brochure gives Shyam Fe 415 properties against IS 1786 Fe 415 and the same eight nominal sizes of 8-40 mm.
Key features
- Superior physical strength and high ductility, with limits much higher than specified in IS 1786
- Controlled chemical composition from in-house M.S. steel billets (low carbon, high manganese)
- High bond strength: more prominent ribs with AR values up to 100-150 % higher than traditional CTD bars or other TMT re-bars
- Superior bendability from the Thermex process (tough outer surface, soft core)
- Excellent weldability
- no pre- or post-weld treatment required
- Cost advantage: section weights very close to BIS nominal values, giving higher meterage per unit weight
- Supports seismic design through its combination of strength, ductility and stress ratio
- No loss of strength at temperatures as high as 600 degC
- Free from internal stress, giving superior corrosion resistance compared with cold-twisted bars and other TMT re-bars
Applications
- Office and residential complexes
- Warehouses
- Schools
- Bridges
- Dams
- Power plants
