About this product
Shyam TMT Re-bars Fe 500 is a special higher-strength grade produced under specific process conditions, giving increased tensile strength compared with Fe 415/415 D. It suits heavy-load RCC structures such as flyovers, dams and bridges where a high yield load is needed without sacrificing ductility.
Key features
- Special weldability: no pre- or post-weld treatment (low carbon, controlled thermo-mechanical treatment)
- Higher corrosion resistance and fatigue strength from a uniform, thick tempered martensitic rim (thicker than Fe 415/415 D)
- Higher tensile strength than Fe 415/415 D, so lower steel consumption: about 17 % effective saving compared with Fe 415 (1.00 MT of Fe 415 steel replaced by 0.83 MT
- 170 kg saved)
- Also carries the features of Shyam Fe 415/415 D TMT re-bars
Applications
- Heavy-load RCC structures such as flyovers, dams and bridges
- Power plants
- High-rise buildings
- Other critical structures requiring high yield load without loss of ductility
