Tata Tiscon 550SD is a super ductile, high-strength TMT rebar developed by Tata Steel in keeping with IS 13920 for construction in seismic zones 3, 4, 5 and 6 (SD stands for super ductile). It has a strong tempered martensite outer layer and a ductile ferrite-pearlite core, produced by quenching, self-tempering and atmospheric cooling. The rib pattern is designed for bonding with concrete, and the brochure describes it as India's first GreenPro certified rebar. Every rebar is sold in a standard length of 12 metres.
