About this product
VIZAG TMT (QST) rebars are produced by VSP ('A Navratna Company') from fully killed virgin steel. VIZAG TMT - CRM is the corrosion resistant rebar grade, alloyed with corrosion resistant elements (Cu+Cr+P = 0.75% min), with minimum yield strength 415 N/mm2, UTS 485 N/mm2 and 14.5% elongation. The brochure recommends it for construction in the most adverse conditions.
Key features
- Re-bar with corrosion resistant elements (Cu+Cr+P = 0.75% min)
- Low carbon content, made from fully killed steel
- Quenching and Self Tempering (QST) gives a strong tempered martensite surface layer with a ductile ferrite-pearlite core
- Combination of high strength and high ductility
- tensile to yield strength ratio always greater than 1.12
- Superior rib design for excellent bonding with cement
- mean projected area much more than IS 1786 specified values
- Easy bendability, weldability and excellent ductility
- can be butt welded or lap welded without pre-heating or post-heating
- Good resistance to ageing and superior corrosion resistance
- Higher corrosion resistance and seismic resistance compared to CTD bars
- Wide size range from 8 mm to 40 mm
- intermediate sizes like 18 and 22 mm allow steel savings in design
Applications
- Any type of concrete structure (RCC construction)
- Construction in adverse conditions (corrosion-resistant grades)
